These books have been compiled by me, Mary Vassallo so I am able to help future Maltese generations and introduce Maltese cooking into Australian homes.
  
I was born in Malta, and lived in San Martine near Mgarr. At the age of 9 my family, including my parents, two sisters, four brothers and I left Malta in 1954. We settled in Mackay, Central Queensland, to join my other two brothers.

I attended school at North Eton (Mackay), and also at Brightley State School where my parents and brothers were farming.

I married into a Maltese family at the tender age of 19, and now have been happily married for nearly fifty years. I have three sons and a daughter, and enjoy cooking, craft work, charity work and helping my family.
